How it all started.

Our almond toffee recipe dates back to the 1950s, created by our beloved Annie and Tommy Zaharis, who delighted their Tommy’s Restaurant customers in Torrance, California, with this seasonal treat each winter holiday.


After Tommy’s passing, Annie opened her own restaurant, AnnieZ’s, in Carson, California, where she continued the cherished tradition. Even after retiring in the late ‘90s, Annie lovingly made the toffee every Christmas for her friends and family, with help from her dear friend Victor Alarcon.


Annie passed away in July 2022 at the age of 98, after a wonderful life. In honor of her wishes to share this one-of-a-kind candy, we’re thrilled to offer it throughout the cooler seasons for everyone to enjoy.
